Cancellation of the Tollwood Summer Festival 2020

Dear Tollwood friends

With a heavy heart, but with the greatest understanding, we had to cancel the Tollwood Summer Festival 2020 in mid-April.

Due to the ongoing corona pandemic, the German government, together with the state governments, initially banned major events until the end of August 2020. The ban was then extended until the end of October.

Tollwood has always been a place of encounter and togetherness – but it is precisely this form of gathering that is a danger to people in the corona crisis. That is why the decision taken is the right one. The health of our visitors, artists, exhibitors and all participants is also our top priority.

Over the past weeks and months, we have been working flat out to move the 2020 programme – especially the concerts in the music arena – to the 2021 Summer Festival (22.06. – 18.07.21). We are pleased that many artists are open to this idea and that it is possible for us to get most of the concert dates under the tent roof of the 2021 Music Arena. This means that catch-up dates have already been found for almost all concerts.

Unfortunately there are still two dates left: Editors and Bonnie Tyler & Chris Norman. As soon as we have news for you about these two concert dates, we will let you know here and on our social media channels. At the moment we would like to ask you for your patience!

For the coming winter, Tollwood has conceived a format that preserves the heart of Tollwood – and at the same time makes the festival a safe bet. The New Year’s Eve events will take a break this winter. The festival ends on 23 December. Further information will follow shortly.

Thank you very much for your understanding and patience!

Stay healthy!

Your Tollwood Team
