As the sun sets over the Olympic Park, the amphitheater at the Tollwood Summer Festival becomes the new gathering place for Munich’s film fans. On July 5, the Tollwood Summer Cinema will present “The Truman Show,” a cinematic highlight, in a special festival atmosphere.
Unfortunately, the Open-Air-Cinema on 5 July has had to be cancelled due to the weather.
Tonight’s film:
The Truman Show
He’s the star of the show, but he doesn’t know it. Jim Carrey, as the unsuspecting Truman Burbank, captivates critics and audiences alike in this magnificent film by director Peter Weir about a man whose life is a non-stop TV show. Truman doesn’t realise that his idyllic hometown is actually a gigantic studio created by a visionary producer/director/creative (Ed Harris), that the people who live and work there are Hollywood actors and actresses, and that even his wife is a co-star bound by contract. Little by little, Truman begins to piece it all together. And what he does after his discovery will make you laugh, cry and cheer like hardly any other film before it.
Directed by : Peter Weir | 1998| FSK 12 | Duration: 103 Min.
