Art in the square
Art That Inspires Movement
Sculptures speak of hope, courage, and peace. Take a moment to pause and immerse yourself – explore art and discover new perspectives on the world as you wander through the festival.
Herzkammer
At the center of the Tollwood Summer Festival: a giant anatomical heart sculpture with two halves – space for engagement and empathy
Torsten Mühlbach: Dove of peace
Rising five meters high, the Dove of Peace welcomes all visitors at the festival entrance. The sculpture by Torsten Mühlbach and Gregor Passens is a shimmering symbol of hope and peaceful coexistence. Unveiled in winter, it now rises warmly above the entrance to the summer festival.
Veronika Angloher: Peace
At the entrance to the Music Arena, the towering Peace sculpture sends a quiet yet powerful message.
During last winter’s festival, visitors filled Veronika Angloher’s artwork with their own words of peace.
Each line, each thought weaves itself into a shared creation — a collective voice for harmony.
Franz Jäger: lion sculpture
Last summer, wood sculptor Franz Jäger created powerful lion sculptures together with festival guests.
One of them has now found its place in the new Lion Garden. After the summer festival, the lion will be looking for a new home in exchange for a donation to the animal welfare organization Streunerglück e. V.
Museum of the Moon
British artist Luke Jerram created his Museum of the Moon, Luna, to NASA’s specifications and measurements, at a scale of 1:500,000. Dream beneath the moon in an atmosphere designed for relaxation.
Adam Stubley: Word sculptures
The word sculptures by Adam Stubley — “COURAGE, ALL OF US, HUMAN VALUES” — have long been an integral part of the Tollwood Festivals. Clear in form and strong in message, they express what the festival stands for: diversity, respect, and humanity.
Mukai Katsumi: Sound of the Earth
Highly respected yet not without controversy in his native Japan, artist Mukai Katsumi draws his inspiration from nature. He believes that all things are imbued with a soul. In his archaic works, using chainsaw and carving tools, he captures the very sound of the earth.
Jiří Kašpar: Sand sculptures
In front of the Half Moon Bar, Czech artist Jiří Kašpar shapes striking sand sculptures. With creativity and water, he carves imaginative forms before the eyes of the visitors.
