The Hot Five and Hot Seven recordings by Louis Armstrong were recorded in various line-ups between 1925 and 1928 and were purely studio productions; Satchmo never went on tour with this formation. The South West Oldtime All Stars have taken on these classics (West End Blues, King of the Zulus, Cornet Chop Suey, Struttin’ with some barbecue, Mahogany Hall Stomp and many more) and breathed new life into them, musically at the very highest level and a real treat not only for friends of New Orleans jazz.
