One person starts humming, a neighbor joins in, and soon the chorus is spreading. And suddenly everyone is singing along. Off-key notes? They’re just part of the fun. Not quite in rhythm? The whole group catches everyone up. No one has to be perfect here. Together, individual voices become a choir that carries the song. Singing makes you happy! Everyone goes home with a smile on their face. In his welcoming remarks on June 29, Pastor Rainer Maria Schießler comments with humor and a sharp tongue on the festival’s motto, “With feeling instead of just being there—the reclamation of empathy.” Ulric Wurschy and Volker Becker provide musical accompaniment for the group sing-along.
