Bedlam Oz „Big Mob Slinky Show”

Bedlam Oz from Australia has been a fixture on the international street theater scene since the 1990s. Their “Slinky Show” has been touring the world for decades and already stood out in a refreshing way at the 1996 Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

At the center is an oversized metal spiral, inspired by the well-known toy, but here heavy, stubborn, and with a clear drive toward escalation. What begins innocently quickly develops its own dynamic somewhere between control and loss of control, with a dry, slightly absurd sense of humor.

Without words, but with a keen sense of timing and situational awareness, the format works just as well at major festivals as it does in public spaces. From Glastonbury to the Queen’s Jubilee in front of Buckingham Palace, the act has carved out a place all its own.
