wooden cloud – Do and Dare

This work of art grows – with every step, every signature, every story. Martin Steinert is building a walk-in sculpture made of squared timber at Tollwood: two intertwined spirals form Yin and Yang at the main entrance to the summer festival. For years, the sculptor has been creating ephemeral sculptures in open studios around the world that carry wishes and hopes. In these works, the “wooden cloud – the architecture of wishes”, people formulate their wishes and fears, their thoughts and messages on wooden slats. In the entrance artwork “wooden cloud – courage and making”, which will be created at Tollwood, Tollwood visitors will make statements about their personal next courageous step. The artwork thus becomes a chronicle of determination. Together, everyone creates art that can not only be viewed, but also experienced and shaped.
