“Now more than ever! Voices that make a difference – Wednesdays for peace, democracy, and the environment”
How can peace be achieved, and how can we secure it permanently—locally, regionally, and globally? Dr. Anna Kreikemeyer, peace researcher at the Institute for Peace Research and Security Policy Hamburg (IFSH), Vered Berman, peace activist, Parents Circle—Families Forum (Berlin), and Amelie Overmann, peace and security officer at Bread for the World, discuss the obstacles and the path to peace. The event will be moderated by Klaus Schneider, Bayern 2.

About the speakers:
Dr. Anna Kreikemeyer, peace researcher, Institute for Peace Research and Security Policy Hamburg (IFSH)
Dr. Anna Kreikemeyer examines peacebuilding strategies and prospects for peace in Europe and Eurasia. Her focus is on local peace in non-Western societies. She is currently conducting research on peace processes among and with refugees as part of the Doing Peace! project.
Vered Berman, peace activist, Parents Circle – Families Forum (Berlin)
Vered Berman grew up in West Jerusalem and has been committed to peace between Israel and Palestine since her youth. In 2003, she lost her mother in a Hamas suicide bombing. Today, she works with Palestinian and Israeli bereaved families in the Parents Circle – Families Forum to promote dialogue and reconciliation between the two societies.
Amelie Overmann, Peace and Security Officer, Bread for the World
Amelie Overmann is a trained peace mediator and worked for seven years in the German Bundestag in the field of foreign and development policy. Before joining Bread for the World, she led a peace mediation project at the Center for International Peace Operations. She has extensive experience in peace and security policy and has gained practical insights in Kenya, India, Colombia, Mexico, and Bougainville, among other places.
