Jörg Reimers reads Joachim Ringelnatz
A sailor with enigmatic wit and rough charm enters the Tollwood Summer Festival: On July 7 and 8, Jörg Reimers recites poems by Joachim Ringelnatz in the new Tollwood Theaterlabor – including the famous verses of “Kuttel Daddeldu”. These evenings are more than just readings; they are performed poems and poetic narrative theater in homage to the great linguist of the 20th century. The well-known actor and director brings the sailor character to the stage with life, rhythm and a keen sense of humor. “Kuttel Daddeldu” is more than just a sailor’s yarn. In his poems, Joachim Ringelnatz, who was born Hans Bötticher in 1883, tells of everyday life at sea, of pubs, small escapes and the great world-weariness – always with a wink, often with irony and also melancholy.
For Jörg Reimers, people who “have to flee, are starving, are oppressed” are courageous.
A unique pop-up theatre is being created under the trees at the Tollwood Summer Festival. In the Tollwood Theaterlabor, puppet and object theatre, music and narrative art merge. Extraordinary productions, poetic stories and intense encounters make theater a new experience. The audience sits close to the stage and experiences every nuance directly. After the event, the audience can linger in the Tollwood Theaterlabor and chat with the artists over a drink. A space full of inspiration and creativity.
