The Ukelites
Not only the instrumentation of the Ukelites – who use saxophone and Hawaiian steel guitar in addition to the ukulele – is unusual, but also the choice of titles. They play songs from the 20th century, mainly jazz and soul as well as rhythm’n’blues, and surprise with pop, country and Hawaiian exotica. Started as a duo for living room concerts, they are now four on stage. Singer Miriam Hein with her deep, soulful voice and ukulele is supported by Steffen Günter on Hawaiian steel guitar, ukulele and saxophone, Wompl Wall on ukulele bass and Ludwig Bergner on drums.
