The Big Band Theory
The Big Band Theory is considered “THE funk band from Augsburg”.
But it is a big band only in name. The five musicians combine stage outfits reminiscent of funk legends of the 70s with songs that effortlessly combine all styles between jazz, funk and rock. Good danceable grooves, clever arrangements, free improvisations and polished original compositions.
Live, they develop their special effect with a special mix of funky-rock pieces, jazzy-playful elements and quieter passages.
2017 saw the release of “Make the world great again” and the video for the single “Nie wieder Sex”. Currently, the band is in the studio recording their third album. In August 2018, the band debuted at Jazz am Bichl in Burghausen.
