The motto of the Tollwood Summer Festival:

Mut und Machen (“Dare and
Do”)

Under the motto “Dare and Do,” Tollwood aimed to inspire people—especially in these uncertain and challenging times—to take action, step out of their comfort zones, and engage in shaping a livable future.

Our democracy depends on people who get involved, who speak up, and who take responsibility. It thrives thanks to those who don’t look away, but act—with a sense of justice, with a commitment to environmental protection, and with care for our shared society. Courage is the driving force that enables us to face the challenges ahead.

Each of us carries the spark of courage within. Courage doesn’t mean being without fear—it means being determined to act in spite of it. The path from daring to doing begins with the decision not to let doubt or convenience hold us back. It begins with the realization that change is possible—through each and every one of us, in both small and significant ways.

That’s the message of our motto: “Dare and Do.”
