STONE is a haunting circus performance about the forces that bind us together and tear us apart. The work by Russian artists Iurii Kharchenko and Dmitri Melkin – who have been living in exile since 2022 – centers on a minimalist yet intense dialogue: a human body and a 20-kilogram stone, connected by a system of ropes high above the ground.
STONE explores the weight of loss and the longing to transcend boundaries. It is a poetic exploration of how we find our place in the interplay with the forces around us – and whether connection can emerge from resistance.
