Starting this summer, Tollwood’s new “Local Tuesday” series will shine a spotlight on the region’s circus arts. On two Tuesdays, the amphitheater will serve as a platform for professional artists and up-and-coming talents from Munich and the surrounding area, showcasing the diversity and vibrancy of the local scene.

“Interlaced” – a circus and dance performance by Leopoldini Varieté

Drawing on contemporary circus, 50 young performers explore how groups of people function, how individuals exert influence – and how difficult it is to break free from intertwined relationships and mutual dependencies in order to rediscover individuality. Movements are mechanically assisted.

One week before the premiere of Leopoldini Varieté at the Leopoldini Circus Festival in Munich’s Westpark, the group of 15- to 23-year-olds will present three excerpts from their current program.
