Book discussion: Gerald and Francesca Knaus “What kind of Europe do we need?”
“Now more than ever! Voices that make a difference – Wednesdays for peace, democracy, and the environment”
Europe faces major challenges: war, populism, and growing divisions threaten peace, freedom, and prosperity. Young Europeans are turning away from the EU, and there is no clear vision for the future of the continent.
In their book, Gerald and Francesca Knaus show how we can learn from history and win political majorities for a Europe free of war, torture, and political prisoners. The father-daughter duo’s plea for a realistic European policy is aimed at all those who want to work for a united, secure, and just Europe.
Gerald Knaus is the founding director of the European Stability Initiative (ESI) think tank and an internationally sought-after expert on migration, refugees, and human rights. Francesca Knaus, born in 2000, works as a research assistant in the German Bundestag on foreign policy and human rights and has been involved in European youth projects for many years.
The discussion will be moderated by Jutta Prediger from Bayern 2. Join the authors in a discussion about the future of Europe and learn how inspiring ideas can become effective policies.
