New Orleans Jazz
The United Syncopators have set themselves the goal of resurrecting classical jazz of the 20s and 30s, as true to the original as possible, without reproducing everything tone by tone. Based on their role models – composers and interpreters at that time who lived in New Orleans and Chicago – the United Syncopators intonate pieces by Clarence Williams, King Oliver, Louis Armstrong, Kid Ory, Jelly Roll Morton, Fletcher Henderson and Duke Ellington. In doing so, they consciously cultivate the connection to the roots of this music, which was at home in the ballrooms and jazz pubs and inspired the listeners to ever new dances.
